First of all, let us inform you, about how it is possible, that a "stone" has the effect to keep ticks off of your dog:
Amber has an electrical resistance and is supercharging electrostatically through friction with the fur of the animal. This static electricity charge is not noticible for your pet, but is treating the tick, which is jumping on its fur, with an electric shock and falls off again in a sudden.
Furthermore the resinous smell of the amber, which also derives from the friction of the amber with the fur, and which ticks don´t like are responsible for the tick to feel uncomfortable. This is how amber works in two complementary manners against these little bloodsuckers.
